Nick “Wixx” Pelis visited Colorado Springs in March of 2002 to go to the first EverLAN as an attendee and liked the event so much he moved there to stay. He joined staff after the Summer 2002 EverLAN and currently works registration and database magic as well as helping to run the event.
He started gaming in 1992 when he wrote a Tic-Tac-Toe program for the Apple IIe microcomputer in elementary school. His first PC was a 386 20MHz with 2MB of RAM, which was just enough to run Wolfenstein 3-D. He has since upgraded many times and currently fosters a dangerous addiction to Civilization 4. He has also been involved with helping to run other LAN groups including SPLAT and QuakeCon.
In real life, Wixx is a supernerd and devotes nearly every waking moment towards computers and technology. He works full-time as a firmware engineer and is progressing towards a master’s degree in electrical engineering. His free time is usually spent tweaking his car or using his roommates as guinea pigs for his cooking.
